Washington, DC–Congressman Jim Banks, IN-3, Chairman of the Guardian Fund, is pleased to announce the PAC’s endorsement of Mariannette Miller-Meeks, IA-2 and Pat Fallon, TX-4. Both conservative veterans running for Congress. Miller-Meeks and Fallon join the largest class of candidates Guardian has ever endorsed. They also join the largest numbers of GOP women, minorities and veterans ever fielded across the country.
Miller-Meeks, IA-2 enlisted in the United States Army at 18, where she served for 24 years as a private, nurse, and doctor (ophthalmologist or eye diseases/surgery). She went into private practice in Ottumwa in. In 2010, Governor Terry Branstad appointed Miller Meeks as the Director of the Iowa Department of Public Health where she served for three years. In 2018, the voters of Senate District 41 elected her to fight for them in the Iowa State Senate.
Pat Fallon, TX-4 earned a scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, where he was both a cadet in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and a member of the 1988 National Championship Varsity Football team. Pat served as a United States Air Force Officer and was stationed at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls. He served in the Texas House of Representatives for 6 years and on Frisco City Council for 3 years and was Mayor Pro Tem of the city from 2011-12. In May of 2012 he was elected to the Texas House of Representatives, garnering 71% of the vote. In 2018 Pat ran for the Texas Senate winning by 40%.
“As Chairman of the Guardian Fund, I am excited about both candidates. To date, the PAC has endorsed 57 candidates and Members. We are committed to supporting candidates who give us the best chance to win back the House and maintain a conservative majority in the Senate. It is time for Congress to get back to work for the American people and the Guardian Fund will work tirelessly to make that possible,” stated Banks.
The purpose of the Guardian Fund is to promote conservative minority and veteran leaders who we believe will successfully restore our great country back to the constitutional republic established by our founding fathers.
The United States deserves to be led by individuals who not only understand our military, but by those whom have sworn an oath to be a part it. Forty years ago, 72 percent of lawmakers in the US House and 78 percent of those in the US Senate honorably served in the armed forces. We need servicemen and women to safely lead us through the challenges on the 21st century battlefield and to represent this country on the world stage.
Guardian Fund is a political action committee established in 2012 by Lt Col Allen West. The current Chairman is Congressman Jim Banks, IN-3. The Guardian Fund has assisted in the elections of 162 veteran and minority candidates nationwide since its inception.
