Joe enlisted in the Army as an infantryman and earned his way into the Ranger Regiment and then Special Forces. After 9/11, he volunteered at every opportunity to serve in combat, serving over twenty years with eleven combat deployments. His wife was killed fighting ISIS in Syria.
